Magic: The Gathering Rarities

Unique Cards

Here they are—the rarest of the rare. These are the cards that will forever frustrate Magic card collectors, as there is only one of each in existence.

The 1996 World Champion was given to Tom Chanpheng of Australia, the winner of the 1996 World Championship. The card is encased in Lucite and serves as the trophy for winning the championship (along with the money). Tom played a White Weenie deck that was supposed to be a Sleight White, but he misreported his Adarkar Wastes as Plains.

The one remaining Shichifukujin Dragon is currently encased in a display case at the DCI Center. Next time you're in Tokyo, stop by and take a look (and send me a picture!).
